Prince Edward Volunteer Rescue Squad is enrolling for its next EMT class, starting September 12, right here at our station in Farmville, VA. You'll learn the skills to help your neighbors and community in the moments when they need help most.
Register by September 1, 2026.
Requirements & General Information:

No medical background required.

Prepares you for the NREMT certification exam and VAOEMS EMT licensure.

Join a volunteer agency that serves the community. Top performers may also receive employment offers from the agency.

Tuition reimbursement and support are available for individuals who join the agency.

Students, retirees, and career-changers would thrive in this class.

All applicants must be 16 by the start of the course date.

Course tuition is $650 total, or $750 if the registrant needs to take the Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC).
Per Virginia EMS Regulation 12 VAC 5-31-1501, a student may not miss more than 15% of the didactic portion of the course. Attendance is strictly enforced, and failure to comply will result in dismissal.
We also require 100% attendance of Saturday classes.
